Math is interwoven through the daily curriculum in many ways. Students develop many math concepts while working with manipulatives, creating projects, working with science, recipes or even spontaneous play in the classroom. During cleaning up time, calendar, centers, outside play; we are always bringing counting, graphing, patterning, computing, estimating, shapes, positions, charts, sorting etc. into the day’s activity. The math center changes weekly and one of our tables during welcome and open play centers usually contains a hands-on math learning tools such as tangrams, patterning materials, counting games, and or sorting.
