Technology
Children learn in many different ways, they are always looking for an alternate way to understand new concepts and re-enforce others. Technology provides another way for them to learn and demonstrate their creativity.
We are careful how we incorporate technology in the classroom, we ensure that computers are implemented into the curriculum in a positive way. We might use computers to show pictures of different cultures, science concepts etc.
But mainly technology in our preschool curriculum gives children a chance to investigate, ask questions and problem solve. They use tools and develope fine and gross motor skills to compare, make predictions, test ideas and share outcomes.
When they create/build as a group or on their own they are able to put their ideas into action, reflect on them then hypothesis on how to make it better. They will often work together, try teacher others ideas, questioning each step, hypothesizing, and observing to see other ways to make it work.
