We are open 6:30 AM - 5:30 PM and offer part-time or full-day sessions. We also offer a before-school and after-school program for preschool-age and elementary-age students.
Our curriculum is an ongoing, ever-changing process that involves all staff members. We strive to upgrade and update our lesson plans to reflect current standards as well as the needs of the children, their families, and the community. As a team, we develop a hands-on, thematic, integrated approach to learning. Our curriculum is based on the developmental abilities of the children attending the preschool. Throughout the day children can explore thematic, developmentally appropriate, creative activities. During open centers, children have the opportunity to exercise personal choice according to interest and preference, while also exploring and developing new interests. Our curriculum also incorporates many opportunities for students to get involved in helping out others in the community.
Through his studies, he realized that children learn best through hands-on experimentation and testing the world around them.
We offer a positive and rewarding experience through which children are encouraged to explore through their natural curiosity. Using active exploration, children develop a solid sense of self-accomplishment and personal pride. Our curriculum is a balance of structured and independent activities designed to ensure your child’s education is well-rounded and rewarding. We help foster and develop creative, independent lifelong thinkers and learners.
Character Development
Kordas Korner places a strong emphasis on values and manners. Within the first month of school, our theme is “All About Us”. This is a great introduction to talking with students about being different and how we accept everyone for who they are. During the year our fundraisers raise money for charitable organizations, other children, and/or families in need.
Students are reminded to use manners throughout the day; “may I”, “please”, “yes, please”, and “no thank you”. Character development begins at home, however, we believe it is also important for the school to play a role in character education therefore we have developed our five core values:
Family Participation
At Kordas Korner, we take great pleasure in welcoming family members to participate. We strive to maintain an active partnership among parents, teachers, and children. The best education for your child will result from mutual support and families’ active participation.
We encourage your involvement in the center’s activities, we invite parents, guardians, and other caregivers to participate in parties, be guest readers, talk about your career, or bring other interests or family culture/customs into the classroom.
Parents are made aware of what is happening in the classroom with daily updates, posted lesson plans, monthly newsletters, and special programs. Student assessments are conducted in the fall and spring along with conferences. Throughout the year, the Director and Teachers are always available to discuss your child’s progress.
"Our youngest son began at Kordas Korner after we felt he would benefit from a change in his childcare environment. He immediately felt comfortable and at home with their warm and attuned teachers. We felt that Kordas’s small and nurturing setting fostered our son’s development and readied him for Kindergarten.”

Statement of Philosophy
