Mathematics
Mathematics is seamlessly integrated into the daily curriculum through various avenues. Students naturally develop a multitude of math concepts as they engage with manipulatives, undertake projects, delve into science, follow recipes, or engage in spontaneous play within the classroom setting. Whether it's during clean-up time, calendar activities, center-based learning, or outdoor play, the incorporation of counting, graphing, patterning, computation, estimation, shape recognition, positional understanding, chart interpretation, sorting, and more is a constant presence in daily activities.
The math center undergoes weekly changes, ensuring a dynamic and diverse learning environment. Notably, one of our tables, situated during welcome and open play centers, consistently features hands-on math learning tools such as tangrams, and materials for patterning, counting games, and sorting activities. This intentional integration enriches the overall learning experience and promotes a holistic understanding of mathematical concepts.
